There’s a scandal that could be revealed and the Portuguese Government is nervous. But then, the Minister of Culture and her team have a crazy idea that could almost work: produce, with Brazil, the biggest and most spectacular soap opera of all times. This project must stop the country and distract everyone when the bomb goes off. José and Luís, father and son (with a troubled past), producer and screenwriter, enter the crazy world of the life in the backstage of “Tropical Court”. They have to deal with actors, religious fanatics, manipulative politicians, elders with a lot of free time and with themselves. In “País Irmão”, reality is even weirder than fiction. 

Há um escândalo que poderá ser revelado e o Governo Português está nervoso. Até que a Ministra da Cultura e a sua equipa têm uma ideia louca que, também por isso, poderá funcionar: produzir, em conjunto com o Brasil, a maior e mais espectacular novela de todos os tempos que, tal como o “Roque Santeiro” ou “Gabriela”, pare o país e o distraia quando a bomba rebentar. José e Luís, pai e filho com um passado conflituoso, produtor e argumentista respetivamente, entrarão assim no mundo insano do dia-a-dia dos bastidores da “Corte Tropical”, sendo obrigados a lidar com actores, fanáticos religiosos, políticos manipuladores, idosos com demasiado tempo nas mãos e, acima de tudo, com eles próprios. Em “País Irmão”, a realidade é bem mais estranha do que a ficção.
